About the Role
UST is searching for an experienced Engineer to own the application's package registry, code review and integration process, physical lab board setup/onboarding, and sanity validation of newly integrated tests and jobs.
Opportunity
- Maintain and administer the application's package registry.
- Perform code review for new job/test submissions from contributors.
- Integrate and merge checked-in jobs/tests into the integration branch.
- Physically set up and rack new boards/systems in the lab.
- Onboard new boards/systems into the framework environment.
- Set up and maintain Windows Deployment Services (WDS) for OS imaging/provisioning of onboarded boards.
- Validate the sanity of tests/jobs after integration to ensure stability before release.
- Develop and maintain the application's backend (C#/.NET Core) as the primary focus, with working-level support for the UI (Angular).
- Design and maintain REST APIs, including asynchronous/multithreaded processing where required.
- Administer the PostgreSQL database - schema design, queries, indexing/optimization, backup and restore.
- Understand and execute test cases across any technical domain integrated into the framework, applying domain-specific test procedures and tools as required, regardless of the underlying technology area.
- Perform functional, API (Postman), integration, and regression testing to validate application quality across all integrated test domains.
- Implement authentication/authorization, secure API design, and certificate management for the application.
- Write and debug PowerShell scripts for automation, lab operations, and application/build support tasks.
- Identify and automate repetitive manual tasks to improve team efficiency and reduce operational overhead.
- Apply basic AI/ML concepts and AI-assisted tooling (e.g. Copilot, chatbots, automation assistants) to improve development, testing, and support workflows where applicable.
Requirements
- Backend development in C#/.NET Core, with working knowledge of Angular
- REST API development, multithreading/asynchronous programming
- PostgreSQL administration, SQL, database design, backup and restore
- Code review, branch integration, and package registry management
- Cross-domain test execution - able to learn and run test cases across any technical area (functional, performance, security, or otherwise)
- Functional, API (Postman), integration, and regression testing
- Physical board setup, lab onboarding, and WDS setup/maintenance
- PowerShell scripting and debugging
- Automation of repetitive/manual tasks
- Authentication/authorization, secure API design, certificate management
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and AI-assisted tools
- Good communication skills
- Able to work independently with clients
- Able to identify and resolve issues
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering
- At least 4 yrs. of experience in Test Automation Validation
Pay
Role Location: Hillsboro, Oregon. Compensation range: $60,000-$90,000.
