About the Role
Join Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division as a Cleaning II team member in Corinth, MS. This role focuses on cleaning and detailing engine components in a fast-paced, safety- and quality-driven environment. You’ll operate cleaning machinery, handle parts, perform operator-performed maintenance, and contribute to sustainable solutions that support a circular economy.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload parts, operate cleaning machinery, and perform OPM (operator-performed maintenance).
- Work in a fast-paced environment to clean and detail engine components.
- Use overhead hoists to move large components as required.
- Load and unload parts from washers based on production schedules.
- Identify parts and select appropriate programming for operations.
- Interpret blueprints and understand torque requirements and processes.
- Perform wash, clean, or blast operations.
- Operate hand tools, cordless tools, gauges, and vibration tools.
- Utilize heavy equipment such as reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, and electric pallet jacks.
- Wear respirator suits for cleaning engines and components when required.
- Perform order filling, processing, storing, picking of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Operate automated packaging equipment.
- Check incoming material and enter data.
- Cross-train in other positions up to Salary Grade 2 (e.g., Cleaning 1, Disassembly 1, Assembly 1/2, Machining 1, Logistics 1).
- Utilize various computer systems, including email, regularly.
- Adhere to Built-in Safety guidelines.
- Work in a team environment with attention to detail and self-motivation.
- Work independently without close supervision.
Requirements
- Basic computer experience (ability to read standard work documents and enter data).
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.
- Knowledge of engines and components.
- Experience with basic tooling (hand tools, air tools, pneumatic tools, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
- Prior use of hoists.
Physical Requirements
- Physically demanding role; ability to handle high-volume, fast-paced operations.
- Work in environments with frequently changing temperatures.
- Walk, squat, and bend for intervals of 15-30 minutes.
- Wear proper PPE, including respirator suits when required.
- Lift, push, or pull heavy parts up to 30 lbs. multiple times per shift.
- Stand for up to 10+ hours per shift.
Pay
Starting hourly pay rate of $18.35, with potential to earn up to $23.85 based on skills and experience. This position includes a 7% night shift premium.
Schedule
- 2nd shift: 2 PM – 10 PM, Monday – Friday.
- 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime.
