Core Lab Medical Laboratory Scientist - Senior (Weekend Night Shift, 3X12s)

Responsibilities

• Assists in the daily operations of the laboratory, exercising good judgement and responsibility in all areas of testing.
• Troubleshoots technical/non-technical problems of a highly complex nature.
• Reviews and documents quality control data and performs corrective action on failed tests.
• Reviews all quality assurance data and generates the appropriate reports for review.
• Provides supervision to entry level staff and manages the laboratory in the Chief Technologist's absence.
• Sets up and manages supply requests for clinical testing and research studies.
• Affixes to laboratory staff and assigns duties to them.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Advanced, technical skills in performing and analyzing various clinical laboratory tests and procedures.
• Knowledge of general laboratory, safety and quality control, principles, techniques, and terminology.
• Excellent customer service skills, for both internal and external customers.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to keep accurate, detailed records; use complex medical equipment.
