Core Lab - Medical Lab Scientist

About the role

The Medical Lab Scientist supports the delivery of patient care by performing laboratory testing that is utilized in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This includes waived, moderate, and high complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Performs all laboratory testing, including the pre-examination phase in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation guidelines to support the delivery of patient care.
• Conducts and documents established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluates the results of quality control testing and implements corrective action according to established protocols to ensure the accuracy and quality of patient testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree/OR Associate degree- Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Specific Degree(s): Medical Technology, Medical Technician, Medical Laboratory Science
• Licensure/Certifications: Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent

Preferred

• Laboratory certification required (ASCP or HEW)

Qualifications

• Experience with waived, moderate, and high complexity testing in a "clinical" laboratory setting through education or work experience required

Pay

Pay Range: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour

Schedule

Part-time (24 hours per week), Evening shift: 2:30pm to 10:30pm
