Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. • Experience in a manufacturing environment; previous experience as an Assembler is preferred.
• Ability to use basic computer programs.
• Ability to read and understand detailed work order instructions and blueprints.
• Basic math skills and understanding of how to use measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand detailed work order instructions.
• Verify correct parts are pulled prior to assembly.
• Sort defective and usable parts; adjust slightly defective parts.
• Adjust core assembly machine as needed.
• Assemble cores and fit parts to close tolerances per AKG standards.
• Bind completed cores and perform quality checks.
• Document and label completed and incomplete cores.
• Meet production quotas provided by Lead or Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Report any issues to the Supervisor or appropriate personnel.
• Follow all policies and procedures under AKG’s Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Regular physical attendance is required.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand (90%) and walk (10%) of the time; may also bend, stoop, pull, push, twist, and turn.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs (20% of the time).
• Must wear required PPE: steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves are provided.
