About the role
We are seeking a National Account Manager to support accounts within our portfolio and drive new business development for both Mass and International channels. In this role, you will own and influence relationships with top retailers such as Walmart, Target, Ulta, and Amazon. You will collaborate on assortment experimentation, data analysis, and the development and implementation of omnichannel promotional and marketing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Build partnerships and facilitate a superior customer experience by aligning and executing against mutually agreed-upon goals and business plans for Naterra, retail partners, and broker/distributors.
- Understand multiple retailers' go-to-market strategies and adapt solutions as required.
- Track, analyze, and measure business trends and growth opportunities to optimize product mix and inventory levels.
- Resolve customer service issues and build strong relationships.
- Manage and deliver against P&L targets to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
- Collaborate with buying teams to execute strategic planning for assigned accounts.
- Forecast shipment and consumption patterns aligned with Naterra’s fiscal year planning calendar and retailer plans.
- Manage and analyze trade funds to efficiently drive business within the expense budget.
- Develop promotional strategies to maximize sales opportunities.
- Utilize data and insights to prepare for line reviews.
- Prepare and present quarterly business reviews internally and with retail customers.
- Attend retailer meetings and trade shows as required.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry in Sales, Demand Planning, Category Management, or Customer/Account Management.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Analytic experience and curiosity for the business.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and a track record of finding solutions to complex problems.
- Knowledge and general understanding of the CPG industry.
- Experience working within a P&L scorecard and tracking trade spend.
- Proven customer management experience, including responsibility for customer strategy and execution.
- Excellent knowledge of sales analysis and metrics, including retailer-specific POS systems and syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Numerator, Tableau).
- Critical thinking skills to piece together data analysis and create a relatable sales story for specific retailers.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to deliver a cohesive, fact-based sales narrative.
