Duties/Responsibilities
- Diploma Programme Coordination
- Documents key aspects of the programme and keeps up-to-date records to comply with Standards and Practices of the IBO.
- Serves as a crucial link between the school and the IBO, managing communication, documentation, and logistics for authorization and evaluation processes.
- Proactively communicates with families and the broader community, organizing informational sessions, and ensuring transparency about programme components, assessments, and school policies.
- Provides instructional coaching and training to faculty with internalization of program curriculum and alignment with DP requirements.
- Establishes and manages a comprehensive system for documenting and archiving DP course syllabi and unit plans.
- Manages systems and practices that support teachers and scholars with successful development and execution of the DP Core, including the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).
- Supports faculty with collaborative planning for vertical and horizontal articulation of curriculum.
- Manages and ensures that the school administers DP assessments in accordance with IBO rules, regulations, and program documentation; including invigilator/proctor training, safe storage and transport of assessment materials, accurate and timely reporting to the IBO, and all other requirement of the IB assessment procedures.
- Leads the school community in process of annual reflection of programme implementation to draft proposed adjustments utilizing the Programme Development Plan (PDP).
- Instructional Leadership
- Coaches and develops teachers by conducting regular and frequent classroom observations, providing targeted feedback, and supporting teachers with data analysis and instructional planning.
- Collaborates with grade level and content teams to plan and review course outlines and syllabi, units of study, lesson plans, and assessment components.
- Makes progress through relevant data analysis at frequent checkpoints.
- Plans, designs, and conducts in-house professional development and trainings for the school community, focusing on IB program requirements, philosophy, and implementation strategies.
- Analyzes school, teacher, and scholar data, plans course corrections, and facilitates data meetings with teams.
- Maintains and supports a culture of continuous improvement.
- Scholar Culture & Family Partnership
- Works with the broader pedagogical leadership team to publish and implement the Code of Character consistently, appropriately, and equitably in compliance with Uplift guidelines.
- Conducts meetings/conferences regarding scholar or school issues with parents, scholars, and teachers.
- Creates and manages plans for daily implementation of scholar services (support services, discipline management, etc.).
- Establishes and maintains relationships with families to encourage community involvement in the school.
- Collaborate with the school’s pedagogical leadership team to manage grade books and reporting of academic transcripts and credit hours to ensure all scholars are prepared for graduation and post-secondary success.
- Supervisory Responsibilities, People Management & Development
- Develops and manages their assigned cohort of teachers and is responsible for all aspects of the talent lifecycle.
- Interviews, recommends for hire, and onboards candidates for open positions.
- Defines expectations and goals for staff performance across all areas (instructional strategies, classroom management, professional conduct, communication, etc.).
- Provides day-to-day feedback and coaching (performance/technical and developmental) to staff.
- Serves as a thought partner and guide for planning professional development for direct reports aligned to developmental goals.
- Observes employee performance, records observations, and conducts rigorous performance evaluations based in continuous improvement and accountability for results.
- Manages employee discipline situations and makes recommendations for termination or suspension, as applicable.
- Professional Growth & Learning

- Administrative Functions
- Supports the school with various administrative functions based on experience and need.
- Assists the Head of School in managing resources (people, instructional, financial) effectively to support school and network goals.
- Creates and monitors systems for scholar and teacher management.
- Supports in planning of daily school activities – class schedules, teacher assignments, extracurricular schedule, school events, substitute coverage, staff and family newsletters, school duties (carline, lunch, hallway monitor, etc.), testing supports, and other duties as assigned.
- Attends after hours school events where administrator presence is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university is required.
- Master’s degree is desirable but not required.
- Valid teaching certificate and/or Principal certificate in the State of Texas is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a classroom teacher is required.
- Teaching experience at an IB World School is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of two years of experience with instructional leadership, including providing teachers with professional development, instructional coaching, and planning support, and leading a team of adults (e.g.: assistant principal, Dean, grade level or department chair, etc.).
- Prior experience leading a school through IB authorization and/or evaluation is preferred, but not required.
- A belief in Uplift Education’s mission, values and operating norms and a commitment to living them daily.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, strategies, goals, and objectives of public education.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to read, analyze, and apply common sense understanding.
- Ability to analyze complex student achievement data and proficiency in supporting teachers with analysis and adjustment of instructional plans in response to data.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and execute academic programming and other initiatives.
- Ability to effectively analyze, address and solve complex problems and develop creative and appropriate solutions.
- Ability to engage sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds and interact with a broad range of stakeholders with different interests and needs.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and frequent interruptions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications is required.
