Responsibilities
- Provide physical and personal care under RN supervision, including bathing, grooming, oral care, and skin/hair care.
- Perform homemaker services such as meal prep, making beds, light housekeeping, and assisting with feeding.
- Assist with ambulation, transfers, range-of-motion exercises, and positioning.
- Reinforce dressings as needed and follow all infection-control and standard precautions.
- Offer emotional support, compassionate listening, and reassurance to patients and families.
- Support the primary caregiver through instruction, guidance, and hands-on help as part of the hospice care team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Illinois State Nursing Assistant Certificate.
- One year of CNA, nursing home, or home health experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently, respond quickly in crisis situations, and provide care with empathy.
- Understanding and acceptance of diverse cultural, religious, and social backgrounds.
- Must meet all state/federal CNA training and competency standards.
Pay
Competitive pay: $18.50–$23.87 per hour, based on experience.
