About the role

We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Copy Editor to join the Healio News Group.

Responsibilities

• Edit, proofread and fact-check articles and their components, including social media assets and infographics;
• Edit, proofread and fact-check page proofs;
• Perform deep edits on articles, rework the phrasing or structure of a story when necessary, and leave suggested changes or feedback when appropriate;
• Ensure articles are written in the author’s own words and look for plagiarism and AI-generated content;
• Review articles for balance;
• Adhere to AP, AMA and in-house style guides;
• Make sure articles are formatted and styled correctly.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or Journalism;
• 3 to 5 years of editing experience;
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Pay

The annual base salary for this position is $50,000 to $60,000. Placement within this range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, education, years and level of experience, and equity with internal team members.
