Copado Release Lead

About the role

BHG Financial is a financial services company founded in 2001 with a mission to provide innovative financial solutions to high-earning professionals and small businesses. We are seeking an experienced Copado Release Lead to manage the end-to-end Salesforce release process.

Responsibilities

• Release Planning and Coordination
• Lead end-to-end release planning across multiple Salesforce environments
• Define and maintain release schedules, milestones, and sprint-to-release mappings
• Manage all release-related work items, epics, and tasks in Jira
• Coordinate with developers, admins, QA, architects, and business stakeholders
• Sandbox Refresh Management and Planning
• Own the end-to-end sandbox refresh lifecycle
• Build and maintain a Sandbox Refresh Calendar in Jira
• Coordinate post-refresh activities and ensure consistency in restoration steps
• Maintain a Sandbox Inventory in Jira and collaborate with the Copado Admin
• Team Mentorship
• Lead a small team of Release Support Specialists
• Assign work, set priorities, and run regular team stand-ups
• Change Advisory Board (CAB) Participation
• Attend and actively participate in CAB meetings
• Prepare and present CAB change requests
• Ensure all changes are documented and meet acceptance criteria

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Salesforce delivery experience, including 3+ years in a Release Manager or Release Lead capacity
• 3+ years of hands-on Copado experience, including pipeline configuration, promotion management, and quality gate setup
• Proven experience with both Copado Metadata Pipeline (Classic) and/or Copado Source Format Pipeline (2nd Generation)
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce Metadata API and SFDX/source format concepts
• Deep understanding of the Copado branching strategy (feature branches, promotion branches, org branches, master branch)
• Experience with Jira for release tracking, sandbox calendaring, sprint management, backlog grooming, and CAB readiness tracking
• Hands-on sandbox management experience, including planning refresh schedules and managing post-refresh restoration steps
• Proven experience attending or facilitating CAB meetings and preparing change request documentation
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks, including sprint planning, backlog management, and retrospectives
• Experience configuring and monitoring Copado DevOps Analytics (lead time, deployment frequency, change fail rate, MTTR)
• Ability to troubleshoot failed promotions, merge conflicts, and deployment errors independently
• People leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring or managing small technical teams
• Naturally inquisitive and proactive, asking questions before problems happen
