About the role
Coordinate shipping activities for specified Northern Labs customers.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate shipment logistics and paperwork for specified customers in a fast-paced, high shipment volume via truckload, LTL, and small pack (parcel) environment.
- Monitor shipment delivery performance.
- Work closely with Sales and Customer Service staff to meet and improve levels of customer service.
- At direction of management, work closely with other departments to establish procedures and processes that ensure Northern Labs is efficiently meeting customers’ shipping requirements.
- Perform inventory cycle counts.
- Monitor finished good inventory.
- Provide back-up for other Shipping Coordinators.
- Complete other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Report Shop Floor orders.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 2-3 years transportation or shipping experience
- Forklift certification required
- HazMat certification a plus
Specific Knowledge
- Stand; walk; taste or smell; and use foot/feet to operate machine up to 1/3 of the time.
- Sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch; and talk or hear 2/3 and more of the time.
- Up to 30 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
Tools & Equipment
- Calculator and forklift up to 1/3 of the time.
- Phone and copier/fax/printers 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
- Computer 2/3 and more of the time.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise
- Work near moving mechanical parts
