Coordinator, School Counseling - 250 Day

About the role

This position shall be responsible for assisting the Supervisors of Elementary and Secondary Counseling to ensure that all school counselors support the academic success of all students by helping them develop self-awareness, facilitating their academic development, assisting them in developing positive relationships with others, aiding them in becoming self-directive, and guiding them in planning and preparing for post-secondary opportunities. This position will aid in the development and management of comprehensive school counseling programs that are preventative in design and developmental in nature and is in alignment with national, state, and local standards and the individual school's needs.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the development and management of comprehensive school counseling programs
• Ensure all school counselors support the academic success of all students
• Help students develop self-awareness
• Facilitate students' academic development
• Assist students in developing positive relationships with others
• Aid students in becoming self-directive
• Guide students in planning and preparing for post-secondary opportunities
• Work with Supervisors of Elementary and Secondary Counseling

Requirements

• Master's degree in School Counseling or closely related field
• Valid California School Counseling Credential
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Knowledge of counseling theories and techniques
• Understanding of educational psychology
• Experience with data collection and analysis
• Ability to collaborate with other school staff

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
