About the Role
Maryville University is seeking a Coordinator for the Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP) Concentration. This role is ideal for an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and educator who is passionate about supporting faculty and student success and advancing innovative, high-quality nursing education. The Coordinator will play a key role in program growth, clinical partnership development, curriculum excellence, and fostering an inclusive learning environment aligned with the University's mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the PNP Nurse Practitioner concentration.
- Oversee and support students with preceptor placements, clinical site communication as needed, and supporting paperwork.
- Provide academic advising and mentoring as needed.
- Oversee, credential, and manage faculty in the PNP concentration to support excellent curriculum delivery and ensure educational objectives are attained for preparation for certification exams.
- Develop and guide strategic plans for program growth and goals in alignment with the Catherine McCauley School of Nursing, Walker College of Health Professions, and Maryville University’s mission, vision, and values.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external constituencies, including educational partners, students, serve on committees, and represent the university at external functions as required.
- Remain committed to fostering a culturally diverse and inclusive atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students.
- Teach as required per contract.
- Additional duties as assigned to meet program needs.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge
- Current Pediatric Nurse Practitioner clinical practice knowledge.
- Knowledge of online learning management system(s).
- Knowledge of how to support students and faculty in achieving academic goals and outcomes.
Preferred Knowledge
- Knowledge of preceptorships for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Students.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Prior online teaching experience.
- Highly detail-oriented and analytical.
- Mentally nimble to balance multiple competing priorities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.
- Experience and comfort with technology, databases, MS Office, and the ability to learn other software systems.
- Ability to remain calm, provide leadership, and use emotional intelligence in difficult conversations.
Preferred Skills/Abilities
- Prior online teaching experience as an NP/PNP.
- Sales Force experience.
- Prior leadership and/or mentoring experience.
Formal Education
- MSN, nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric Primary Care), with a minimum of five years of recent clinical experience as an NP/PNP, and unencumbered RN licensure in the United States.
- Preferred Doctorate in Nursing or related field.
- Preferred NP clinical experience with patient populations.
