Coordinator - Parts

About the role

We are seeking a Parts Coordinator to support our Houston, Texas office. The ideal candidate will serve as a frontline inside sales representative with added buying and warehouse responsibilities for our midstream compression packages.

Responsibilities

• Process emergency and routine parts orders for the tech service field team
• Process internal and external customer parts quotes and orders
• Create purchase orders based on parts needs and submit to appropriate vendors
• Suggest parts recommendations to external customers
• Support the warehouse team in receiving and validating orders to ensure delivery accuracy
• Maintain appropriate inventory records
• Expedite critical parts when needed
• Process vendor return authorizations for damaged and poor-quality products
• Make inventory corrections, adjustments, and price changes
• Maintain and track all core returns to vendors for credits
• Assist in quarterly parts inventory processing

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• A.A. Degree preferred but not required
• 2+ years minimum experience in the field or a related area
• SAP experience is a plus
• Knowledge of Ariel compressors and Caterpillar engines is a plus
• Proficient in Excel, Access, Word, Microsoft Office, and other required software
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic math
• Ability to determine appropriate courses of action in complex situations not addressed by existing policies or procedures

Working Conditions

• Work within office, assembly, and fabrication shop, and field environments
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing
• Travel may be required
• Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions, and some heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
• Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials, chemicals, extreme temperatures, loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
