About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) at Alaska Regional Hospital, you will ensure and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate all functions in the unit/department during your designated shift. In collaboration with the management team, you will direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role supports the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in ongoing assessments of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a teamwork environment that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Operationalize nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives to improve engagement.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Recommend and implement courses of action for training, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and manage supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • One or more years of OR Circulating experience.
  • One or more years of demonstrated leadership experience (strongly preferred).
