Coordinator of Law Enforcement Partnerships
Full-time position based at the Police Department with frequent travel in the metro-Boston area to meet with partner police departments and behavioral health partners.
Responsibilities
- Conduct program evaluation of training, policy review, and implementation of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) initiatives at the local level.
- Oversee data collection and develop and implement evaluation tools for all trainings.
- Serve as the point of contact for all Law Enforcement partners to provide technical assistance and schedule meetings to advance the mission and goals of CIT.
- Manage and oversee content for the Metro Boston Crisis Intervention Team Training and Technical Assistance Center (MB CIT-TTAC) website.
- Work with Crime Analyst and COHR Director to develop systems to identify calls for service related to behavioral health, document responses, and develop behavioral health partnerships.
- Provide consultation to partner police departments related to developing mission statements and communicating CIT goals and outcomes.
- Regularly review COHR and CIT data collection to ensure accurate documentation and create coding to capture work product more clearly.
- Provide data for the annual Budget presentation.
- Conduct ongoing programmatic evaluation of CIT and CIT-related training curriculums, including Certification Test analysis, and ensure training objectives are being met.
- Create systems to streamline information sharing and efficient programmatic and client documentation.
- Document emerging Community CIT models that demonstrate the benefits of Public Health and Public Safety integrated models.
- Coordinate special events, marketing, and registrations; inform and perform scenario-based training.
- Maintain an active database of community resources for the MB CIT region, focusing on social determinants of health, updated monthly.
- Work with partners to ensure programmatic documentation and data meet standards of confidentiality.
- Participate in setting agendas and staffing quarterly Somerville Community Stakeholder Meetings; work with Sr. Crime Analyst to identify trends and determine training topics or systems training.
- Record and distribute minutes from meetings.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Public Health, Research & Evaluation preferred, with more than three (3) years of experience in either field. A Bachelor of Science with a minimum of 3 years of program evaluation experience will be considered.
- Bilingual in Portuguese, Spanish, and/or Haitian Creole preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of data collection measurements and tools.
- Experience with curriculum development.
- Ability to create interview, survey, focus group, and evaluation questions for program evaluation and systems understanding.
- Ability to conduct various kinds of interviews and make implementation suggestions to partner police departments.
- Ability to learn QED and CAD police-specific database systems and follow/enforce program policies and procedures.

Work Environment
The work environment involves everyday office discomforts with occasional exposure to outside elements. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting but are generally not unpleasant. Employees may be required to work beyond normal business hours to attend evening meetings or complete work assignments.
Physical and Mental Requirements
The physical demands include regular requirements to sit, stand, use hands, talk, hear, reach with arms, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or run. The employee may need to move, push, pull, or lift up to 25 pounds. Mental fitness is required to exercise sound judgment, remain calm under pressure, and establish firm boundaries to effectively address concerns or emergencies.
Pay
$75,000 annualized
