Coordinator, Laboratory

About the role

We are seeking a Laboratory Coordinator to join our team at Central Carolina Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health. Our mission is to prioritize your well-being so you can provide exceptional care to others.

Responsibilities

• Supports high-quality patient care by performing diagnostic testing on patient specimens to assist physicians in the diagnosis and monitoring of disease states.
• Assists with training and oversight of laboratory personnel as assigned.
• Responsible for Laboratory Information System (LIS) functions, including system file maintenance and support of the laboratory quality assurance program.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality in all laboratory operations.

Requirements

• Associate's in MLT or Bachelor's in MT
• Average of 1 year of experience in a medical laboratory setting
• AMLT Certification or Equivalent required within 1 year of hire
• ASCP or Equivalent preferred

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT)

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
