Coordinator - Judy Center
About the role
Responsible for coordinating City Schools Judith P. Hoyer Early Child Care and Family Education Centers. Manages the overall district strategy and performance of Judy Centers across the district in both a supervisory and support role. Coordinates grant development, applications, submissions, and approves and monitors spending by Judy Centers. Directs strategic planning and evaluates performance on a system-wide and individual program level. Manages policy relating to Judy Center programs. Collaborates with partners both within and outside of the district to develop programming and support implementation. Serves as a member of Early Learning leadership team and integrates Judy Centers into district plans and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develops district Judy Center strategy, including supporting the achievement of and monitoring progress toward goals within the strategy.
- Collaborates with principals, supervises the Judy Center staff (Coordinating Teachers and Support Specialists).
- Creates a roadmap of Judy Center best practices to support all Judy Center staff and encourage the spread of innovative practices among Judy Center sites, with particular attention to incorporating the demonstration aspects of the early learning center at The Henderson Hopkins School.
- Analyzes findings from outside evaluators to determine how to effectively prioritize Center staff time and resources.
- Provides professional development and technical assistance for Judy Center staff.
- Guides and supports programming, assist in managing and understanding citywide partnerships.
- Manages grants applications and reporting.
- Approves contracts and spending.
- Liaises with MSDE on all Judy Center matters.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field or equivalent.
- Valid Maryland State Department of Education teaching certificate with Admin I endorsement.
- Minimum of three years' experience in early childhood education.
- Experience with Judy Centers and/or early childhood comprehensive services.
- Experience in coordinating services and collaborating with multiple agencies and service providers.
- Experience with public-private partnerships and management of dollar budgets.
- Experience writing and monitoring grants, analyzing data, and conducting program evaluations.
- Experience in coordinating/managing early childhood program and ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate the work of others.
- Evidence of staff development experience and skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development and appropriate curriculum for children birth through age five.
- Demonstrated ability to relate positively to colleagues, children, and families; work under pressure; and make decisions in accordance with laws, ordinances, regulations, and established procedures.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Thorough working knowledge of current technology to include critical programs, data base, record keeping, office equipment, and software.
- Able to work independently without supervision.
- Able to maintain sensitive and confidential records and prepare reports from such records.

Pay
Maximum Salary: $180,471.00
Minimum Salary: $101,250.00
