About the role
The incumbent will ensure the successful technology transfer process of innovation and facilitate the implementation of the Intellectual Property Rights Policy. They will advise researchers and students on licensing innovations, obtaining intellectual property, and advancing to incubation, prototype development, and commercialisation. The role also involves assisting the Director of Innovation and Development with high-level administration and operational support for the Centre for Innovation and Development.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the technology transfer process for innovations.
- Facilitate implementation of the Intellectual Property Rights Policy.
- Advise researchers and students on licensing, IP protection, incubation, and commercialisation.
- Assist in prototype development leading to commercialisation.
- Provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Director of Innovation and Development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IP Management or Law.
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Management.
- Track record of working in the technology transfer and IP sector.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree and knowledge in technology licensing and IP management will be an added advantage.
