About the role

This position is responsible for accurately validating, analyzing, and auditing accounting and operational transactions. The role provides direction and assistance to associates and management in daily activities while ensuring compliance with company guidelines. It oversees Lease Administration and financial reporting for over 500 locations, managing $40–50M in expenses each period ($500M+ annually).

This is a flexible/hybrid role requiring 3 in-person days at one of our core locations (Quincy, MA; Scarborough, ME; Carlisle, PA; or Salisbury, NC) and 2 remote days. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, audit, and monitor work product.
  • Establish schedules and methods for various accounting services and financial systems.
  • Oversee assigned portfolio for billing inquiries and invoices.
  • Perform audits of CAM and tax reconciliations provided by landlords to ensure expenses align with legal documents.
  • Maintain comprehensive notes and data regarding billings, including negotiations with landlords, requests from Leasing & Asset Management, legal department, default notices, audit compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Research and resolve inquiries from landlords and brand real estate related to rent, CAM, tax, and other billings.
  • Calculate and pay percentage rent payments for each location as required.
  • Ensure the Lease Administration system is updated for escrow changes.
  • Assist in calculating pro rata payments for M&A activities.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support business needs and company values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Lease Administration, or a related field, or 2–3 years of high-volume Accounts Payable or Accounting experience in a fast-paced shared services environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting theories, methodologies, principles, and their impact on financial statements.
  • Experience with account analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience with or ability to use query tools for reporting.
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and strong follow-through skills.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills; ability to confidently engage with internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance a large workload to meet deadlines.
  • Vendor relations experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including complex spreadsheets (lookups, pivot tables, etc.).
  • SAP S4/Hana experience.

Pay

  • ME/NC/PA/SC: $26.54 – $39.81 per hour.
  • IL/MA/MD/NY: $30.54 – $45.81 per hour.
