Your Opportunity

The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the delivery of Stantec's corporate community engagement programs, helping to advance employee engagement, community investment, and community impact initiatives across the organization. This role reports to the Community Engagement Manager and works with the Office of the CEO, regional teams, internal partners, and community organizations.

  • Helps coordinate day-to-day program activity, funding administration, communications, reporting, and platform support.
  • Supports strong program coordination, accurate data and documentation, responsive stakeholder support, and clear storytelling that helps amplify Stantec's community impact.

This role is well-suited to someone who is organized, service-oriented, detail-focused, and passionate about supporting initiatives that connect employees, communities, and Stantec's broader business priorities.

Program Coordinator & Administration

Supports the coordination and administration of corporate community engagement programs, campaigns, and initiatives, including Stantec in the Community Week and other employee engagement activities.

  • Aid in day-to-day operations related to corporate community engagement, including scheduling, documentation, tracking, follow-ups, and administrative support for meetings and program activities.
  • Assist with ad hoc community engagement projects from planning through execution, helping ensure deliverables, timelines, and follow-ups are well managed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes, templates, tracking tools, and day-to-day program coordination.

Funding, Grants, and Partner Support

Supports the intake, review, tracking, and documentation of community investment and grant requests, ensuring required information is complete and aligned with established processes.

  • Maintain charitable partner records and support communications with internal stakeholders and external community partners.
  • Cook information and materials to support funding decisions, partnership updates, reporting, and program planning.

System, Data, and Reporting

Supports the use of Benevity Grants and Spark, including data entry, record maintenance, troubleshooting, basic user support, and helping ensure information is complete and accurate.

  • Aid in reporting on community engagement activity, including giving, participation, volunteerism, and impact metrics.

Communications

Helps prepare clear and concise summaries, presentation materials, communications, and storytelling content for internal and external audiences.

  • Support internal communications related to community engagement programs, campaigns, deadlines, and employee participation opportunities.
  • Provide responsive support to employees and internal partners seeking information about community engagement programs, tools, and processes.

Collaboration

Collaborates with regional teams, corporate functions, and Community Engagement representatives to support consistent program delivery and information sharing.

Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • A service-oriented approach, with comfort supporting employees, internal teams, and external community partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear emails, summaries, presentations, and program materials.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in community engagement, corporate giving, employee volunteerism, nonprofit partnerships, CSR/ESG, or related fields.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams, functions, and geographies.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when working with sensitive information, funding requests, employee data, and external partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; experience with Benevity or similar grants, volunteering, CRM, or reporting platforms would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to follow established processes while identifying practical ways to improve tracking, coordination, and reporting.
  • Comfortable working independently on assigned tasks while knowing when to seek guidance or escalate questions.
  • Ability to work effectively with a virtual team.
  • Comfort working with data and producing accurate reports.

Education and Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Sustainability, Nonprofit Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in program coordination, community engagement, corporate philanthropy, nonprofit partnerships, employee engagement, communications, administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting corporate programs, volunteer initiatives, community partnerships, grants administration, or employee engagement campaigns would be considered an asset.
