About the role

This position oversees the scheduling, setup, and maintenance of laboratory and simulation equipment used in EMT and Paramedic instruction. It involves coordinating, collecting, managing, and evaluating appropriate documentation related to clinical and lab education, including health and physical screenings, releases, immunizations, BLS certifications, background and drug screening, regulatory compliance, and compliance with affiliating healthcare agency requirements. The role also includes representing the College to clinical agencies, associate dean, faculty, and students, ensuring compliance standards are met, and supporting Broward College’s compliance with clinical contracts on behalf of clinical partners hosting our students.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the scheduling, setup, and maintenance of laboratory and simulation equipment used in EMT and Paramedic instruction.
  • Collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure compliance standards are met for students and faculty.
  • Manages and evaluates appropriate documentation related to clinical and lab education.
  • Works closely with clinical affiliates/clinical education centers to resolve student issues and inquiries.
  • Provides academic information and guidance to current and prospective students.
  • Assists with student enrollment in the program(s).
  • Establishes and maintains relationships and effective communication with counseling, registration, learning resources, advisory committees, external agencies, high schools, and other colleges.
  • Affords academic planning, prepares and implements class scheduling, registration processes, and administrative operations.
  • Acts as a representative of the College and attends related events and meetings.
  • Supports the management of the operation of the clinical facilities in conjunction with the supervisor.
  • Updates and maintains unit's files and records; implements and maintains data management systems, as required.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Services, Paramedicine, Health Science, Public Safety, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum Experience/Training: Six years of related/relevant experience required. Progressive responsibilities including experience in managing high volume work streams and possessing working knowledge of clinical structure and management.
  • Experience: Experience working with hospitals, fire/rescue departments, and clinical affiliates for scheduling, compliance, and training coordination.

  • Expertise in understanding and following project plans, including the coordination of multiple resources and activities.
  • Understanding of and ability to coordinate interdependencies of work within the area and of resources from outside the area.
  • Advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments, including Microsoft Office Products and specialized computer systems.
  • Ability to interact and effectively communicate with employee and student populations.

Pay

$52,900 - $62,158 (Salary commensurate with education and experience)

Schedule

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday/Weekends/Varies Hours Per Week: 40
