As a Coordinator I, Central Business Operations, you will play a key role in auditing titles and processing critical documentation to support CarMax’s operational success.
About the role
This part-time role is 100% onsite at the Richmond, VA Home Office and typically involves approximately 25 hours per week. Schedules are determined by operational needs and generally span four or five days, with all work occurring between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Specific scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.
Responsibilities
- Receive, open, and sort incoming department mail, distributing workload efficiently across the team.
- Audit and validate titles and documents, ensuring compliance with state regulations and CarMax standards.
- Enter title data into internal systems with speed and accuracy to maintain operational integrity.
- Prepare titles and supporting documents for shipment to CarMax locations, including filing and packaging for same-day delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams and store locations to resolve title-related errors from lien holders or auction houses.
- Research and locate missing titles or documents, partnering with team members to ensure timely resolution.
- Attach required documentation to checks prior to sending to lien holders or finance companies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally.
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Related experience or training in administrative or operational support preferred.
- Knowledge of CarMax store operations preferred but not required.
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $18.30 - $25.60.
Benefits
- Part-time associates are eligible for sick time in states that mandate it, accrued per pay period (ranging from 24 hours to unlimited based on state rules). In Washington, part-time associates receive sick leave consistent with state law.
- Eligible for between 8 hours and 40 hours per year of vacation based on length of service, subject to a 1-year waiting period.
- Eligible for 4 hours of Floating Holiday Time each calendar year, subject to manager approval.
