Rate: PAEOP Level C
Hours: 8 Hours, Monday - Friday 7:30AM-4:30PM
Calendar: 260-Day

About the role

This position is responsible for being the primary resource for Puyallup School District employees in relation to substitute/leave requests. The role provides information and assistance to various individuals; processes leaves of employees; reconciles monthly transmittals; and prepares information for administration and meetings. The position evaluates, responds to, audits, and resolves questions and issues related to benefits, and researches and monitors compliance with related programs and issues, including Collective Bargaining Agreements, State and Federal regulations, and District policies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary resource for district employees regarding substitute and leave requests
  • Provide information and assistance to various individuals
  • Process employee leaves
  • Reconcile monthly transmittals
  • Prepare and present information to administration and at meetings
  • Evaluate, respond to, audit, and resolve questions and issues related to benefits
  • Research and monitor compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements, State and Federal regulations, and District policies
  • Stay current on tools and resources used within the major scope of the position

Requirements

  • High school graduation required; post-high school education preferred or equivalent with advanced training and experience in computer software applications, including spreadsheet development and analysis
  • Three years of increasingly responsible computerized record-keeping experience preferred
  • Training in office and reception experience with emphasis on public relations required
  • Experience in a school district or public agency with more than 1,000 employees preferred
  • Advanced technical or personnel training may substitute on a month-for-month basis for one year of the required experience

Skills

  • Complex verbal skills to convey detailed, technical information
  • Persuasive writing skills to convey detailed, technical information
  • Industry-specific skills (e.g., relevant school district experience), related experience, and training required
  • AA degree or equivalent years of experience

Required Testing

Candidate must pass a clerical assessment for this position if considered for hire. Assessments are given by invitation only. Upon consideration, applicants will be contacted to schedule a test.
