About the role
The Edgewood Locker is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Cooler, Freezer & Warehouse Associate.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock pans, boxes and trays of meat products into frozen and refrigerated storage.
- Label and box packaged meat products for frozen or refrigerated storage.
- Following order cards and accurately retrieving orders for customers.
- Filing meat away in various coolers/freezers.
- Responsible for organizing the finished product coolers and freezers.
- Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other equipment to move product as needed.
- Operate wholesale delivery vehicles as backup delivery driver.
- Work toward continuous quality improvement.
- Stay current with changing technology.
- Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Must be 18 or older. No prior experience or training required. Valid Driver’s License required. Must meet requirements to be on Company’s Insurance policy.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Physical Demands: Standing – Approximately greater than 2/3 of on-the-job time. Walking – Approximately greater than 2/3 of on-the-job time. Use of hands to finger, handle or feel – Approximately greater than 2/3 of on-the-job time. Reaching with hands and arms – Approximately greater than 2/3 of on-the-job time. Climbing or balancing – Approximately 1/3 to 2/3 of on-the-job time. Stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling – Approximately 1/3 to 2/3 of on-the-job time. Talking or hearing – Approximately greater than 2/3 of on-the-job time. Tasting or smelling – Approximately less than 1/3 of on-the-job time. Weight lifted/Force exerted – An average of approximately 15 pounds over 2/3, 50 pounds 1/3 to 2/3 and over 100 pounds less than 1/3 of on-the-job time, non-continuously. Vision – Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right, while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus). Environmental – Exposure to potentially hazardous environmental conditions may include the following: Wet or humid conditions (non-weather) – Approximately 1/3 to 2/3 of on-the-job time. Work near moving mechanical parts – Approximately less than 1/3 of on-the-job time. Work in high, precarious places – Approximately less than 1/3 of on-the-job time. Outdoor weather conditions – Approximately less than 1/3 of on-the-job time. Extreme cold (non-weather) – Approximately more than 2/3 of on-the-job-time
