Cooks Helper-Food Service Food Production-Mount Sinai West-Part Time, 3:30pm to 8pm, Weekends and Holidays
About the Role
Provides assistance in the preparation and cooking of food under the supervision of the supervisor, the first cook, or the second cook. This is a part-time position with a schedule of 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM on weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Receiving food items and supplies as requisitioned and preparing these items for production.
- Assembling and measuring ingredients as per standard recipes.
- Notifying and communicating plant hazards to the supervisor.
- Adhering to established work schedules regarding work days and job assignments as instructed by the supervisor, first cook, or second cook.
- Using various equipment and kitchen utensils while performing assigned tasks.
- Operating equipment in a safe manner and cleaning all equipment according to established guidelines.
- Maintaining compliance with OSHA/JCAHO standards.
- Performing butchering duties as assigned.
- Successfully completing an annual physical examination.
- Following standard practices for storing, issuing, covering, labeling, dating, and rotating foods.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of experience.
This position is part of the SEIU 1199-MSW collective bargaining unit.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $25.6921 - $27.6057 per hour. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational need.
Schedule
Part-time, 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM on weekends and holidays.
