Cook - TE

About the role

Three temporary cook positions available in the Lake View Lounge and Strada venues at Memorial Union. Lake View Lounge positions focus on back-of-house cooking and prep work, while Strada positions combine cooking with customer service functions such as preparing pizzas, pasta bowls, and interacting with guests.

Key responsibilities

• Trains and guides student workers
• Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities
• Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
• Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
• Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods

Schedule

Weekly schedule subject to change based on business needs. These are temporary positions ending on December 16, 2026.

• Position 1: Monday – Friday, 11:00am – 5:00pm
• Position 2: Wednesday – Sunday, 4:00pm – 10:00pm
• Position 3: Thursday – Sunday, 12:00pm – 6:00pm

Pay

• $17.00 per hour
• Weekend differential: $0.80 per hour added for work performed on Saturday and Sunday
• Night differential: $2.50 per hour added for work performed between 6:00pm and 6:00am

Required qualifications

• 3 months of work experience

Preferred qualifications

• High School Diploma
