Cook Supervisor, Temporary

Schedule: per diem

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise dietary personnel, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
• Collaborate closely with the Dietary Manager, overseeing work assignments, contributing to performance evaluations, and assuming responsibility for the department in the absence of the manager.
• Prepare and serve meals tailored to residents' dietary requirements, in coordination with the Dietary Manager.
• Contribute insights to production planning, including forecasting needs and recipe development.
• Assist in the procurement and proper storage of food and equipment.
• Ensure the dietary department consistently delivers visually appealing, high-quality meals within budget constraints.
• Operate various kitchen equipment and adaptive tools for residents' specialized needs.
• Respond promptly to residents' requests and needs, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager in planning and executing facility-wide special events.

Qualifications

• Must hold Serv Safe Manager certification.
• Must be able to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights as well as lift items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write and understand English, perform simple math calculations, measure and record data.
• Attention to detail, good follow through skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others.
• Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility preferred.
• Demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward the residents and their support networks.
• Ability to communicate with residents, staff and family members in a professional manner.
