About the role

We are looking for an individual with a passion for cooking and a kind heart for seniors, someone who genuinely cares about making them happy through the nutritious meals they help prepare.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of meals for residents and employees as directed by the Director of Food Service or the Sous Chef
• Help prepare food for the next meal service, including chopping, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to established recipes
• Ensure all procedures follow required health department and company regulations
• Check all food temperatures prior to meal service
• Garnish all plates before they leave the kitchen area

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food handling and preparation, sanitation, and safety standards for institutions and/or restaurants
• Culinary or cooking school experience/courses preferred; minimum of a high school degree
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent ability to prioritize, deliver top-notch customer service, and multi-task in a busy environment
• Ability to understand the English language and follow instructions with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to follow all rules, regulations, policies, and sanitary standards established by management

Schedule

Full-time position includes one weekend day. Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 am – 7:00 pm or 7:00 am – 2:30 pm.
