About the role
Prepares, assembles baked goods, cooks, seasons and portions food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors of the designated facility, following menu and dietary requirements. Adheres to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation. Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas. Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery. Works with internal customers, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills. Operates in a dynamic culinary environment while following standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality, safe food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors.
- Follow standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines for food preparation, storage, and usage.
- Document HACCP steps, temperatures, and outcomes to ensure food safety.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, grills, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in cooking and serving areas.
- Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Measure ingredients accurately and follow recipes precisely.
- Stand for extended periods and walk throughout the facility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients.
- Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred.
- On-the-job training provided.
- ServSafe certification may be required depending on location.
- Fulfill annual continuing education requirements, including safety training and in-services.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required depending on location.
- Valid Driver’s License may be required depending on location.

Pay
Salary range: $15.50 - $23.50 per hour.
Schedule
