Cook (PT 5a-1:30p)

Job Summary

Responsible for preparing food to be served complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards following established food production programs and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares and presents breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
• Creates and posts daily menus.
• Keeps work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation, dishwasher, refrigerators, ovens, etc.
• Keeps track of food and supplies inventory.
• Purchases shopping list for purchasing coordinator.
• Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures for quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests; when applicable.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Must have a valid Food Handlers Certificate.
• Two years’ experience and a cook or prep cook.

• Ability to read and interpret written information.
• Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
• Ability to write clearly and informatively.
• Ability to edit work for spelling and grammar.
• Ability to listen and get clarification.
• Ability to participate in meetings.
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged sitting at a desk.

Compensation and Benefits

• Compensation Transparency In accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act, the reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position $15.56 - $23.33 per hour.
• Actual compensation within this range will depend on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and relevant qualifications.
• Generally, placement within the upper portion of the range is reserved for candidates with several years of directly related experience or exceptional expertise.
