About the role
The Cook PRN plays a vital role in preparing and delivering high-quality meals on an as-needed basis, ensuring that all food served meets established standards of taste, presentation, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
- Aid in receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment.
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to manage workload and ensure timely meal service.
- Adapt to varying schedules and provide coverage during peak times or staff shortages.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working as a cook or in a similar food preparation role.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks.
Qualifications
- Culinary certification or formal training in cooking (preferred).
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment (preferred).
- Familiarity with specialized dietary requirements and menu accommodations (preferred).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills (preferred).
- Knowledge of inventory management and portion control (preferred).

Pay
$18 to $22/hour, based on experience.
Schedule
Weekends: 10:30am-6:30pm, and other shifts as needed.
