About the role

The Cook is responsible for preparing meals that meet the dietary needs and requests of our residents, following facility procedures and dietary regulations under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion control, and temperature control procedures.
• Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, floors, dishes, and utensils.
• Check all trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy.
• Ensure proper storage of food and supplies; adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety, and infection control policies.
• Work in a non-temperature regulated environment (e.g., near ovens, stoves, walk-in refrigerators/freezers).
• Ensure food and supplies are available for the next meals; assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies.
• Report any hazardous conditions, equipment issues, accidents, and incidents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food Handler's permit / ServSafe certification as per State requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to relate positively and favorably to residents, families, and coworkers.

Pay

$21.27 - $27.31 per hour
