Responsibilities
- Assists the Chef in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining.
- Maintains a passive leadership role in maintaining adequate production levels from the Kitchen staff.
- Develops knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté, and fry).
- Has the opportunity to experience using knives and various kitchen equipment.
- Recreates recipes and ensures consistency in food preparation.
- Minimizes food waste through cross-utilization of ingredients.
- Works with a world-class culinary team to create innovative dishes.
- Prepares ingredients for cooking, such as chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat.
- Keeps a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
- Safeguards proper storage of food and other items.
- Ensures the quality of ingredients used in cooking.
Requirements
- Active Food Handler’s certification or the ability to obtain one.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including day, night, and weekends.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and stand for long periods.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- At least 21 years of age.
- A desire to exceed expectations and have an energetic personality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
- A strong desire to learn and develop culinary skills.
- A passion for the culinary arts.
Skills
- Cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté, fry).
