Sunnyvale Post-Acute Center is a leading skilled nursing facility dedicated to helping residents regain independence and quality of life. Our dietary department is more than just a kitchen; it is a clinical partner that ensures our residents receive nutritious, appetizing, and medically appropriate meals every day.
Key Responsibility
- Cook and season nutritious meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.
- Prepare food accurately for regular, therapeutic, and modified diets (including pureed and texture-modified items).
- Maintain a pristine kitchen environment by following HAACP principles, Title 22 regulations, and infection control procedures.
- Monitor and record food temperatures; ensure sanitizer solutions are properly maintained.
- Label, date, and rotate food supplies according to health department standards.
- Assist in supervising dietary staff and managing kitchen workflow in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in a healthcare, hospital, or senior living setting.
- Certification: Valid ServSafe or California Food Handler's certificate (required or obtainable upon hire).
Skills
- Ability to read and follow recipes.
- Manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Work independently.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Stamina
- Must be able to stand for long periods, work in a warm kitchen environment, and lift up to 30 pounds.
Pay
A starting range of $21–$25/hour based on experience.
