About the role

This position is located at Road Runner Lanes Bowling Center, WSMR, NM.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading.
• Operate a variety of kitchen equipment using gas, electricity, steam or microwave heat sources. Disassemble, clean and assemble component parts and accessories, following safety procedures to avoid personal injury and damage to the equipment.
• Clean, store, and maintain all equipment and work areas after each use. Follow established sanitation procedures when handling food.
• Ensure that foods are stored at the correct temperatures to prevent bacteria growth.

Requirements

• United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
• Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
• A health assessment and physical are required.

Qualifications

• Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess.
• Demonstration of neatness and good grooming, dependability, and ability to work under pressure.

FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
