Join the support team at Community Action Partnership Hillsborough and Rockingham Counties (CAPHR) in Manchester, NH as a Cook Manchester. This role pays $16.57 – $19.11/Hr and requires relevant professional experience.

The cook plays a critical role in the daily operations of the food service activities for the child care center to which they are assigned. This position is a full-year position with a 35-hour workweek, covering 52 weeks per year.

What You'll Do

• Preparing nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks for assigned centers in accordance with approved menus and dietary requirements.
• Managing food deliveries, adhering to budget guidelines, and maintaining kitchen supplies.
• Shopping at grocery stores on an as-needed basis within budget constraints and collecting food from surplus delivery sites.
• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, adhering to health and safety regulations, and following proper food safety procedures.
• Documenting food purchases, supplies, and menu production.
• Ensuring timely completion of tasks and adhering to standards for cleanliness and organization.
• Cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.

Requirements

• A minimum of high school diploma or GED, and coursework or experience in quality food preparation, budgeting and purchasing.
• Knowledge of basic cooking and kitchen procedures.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Six months to two years quality food service experience.
• Valid New Hampshire drivers license, current adequate car insurance, proof of car insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and lift/carry/move heavy items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to relate well to children and parents.
• Ability to work without supervision & maintain records and reports.
