Cook / Manager Needed for School Food Service

About the Role

We are seeking a Cook/Manager for a school food service program in the Rockaway Township, NJ area. This part-time position offers a day shift of 5 to 6 hours daily, Monday through Friday, with no weekends, holidays, or summer work.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and cooking
• Operating POS systems
• Following recipes according to the NSLP (National School Lunch Program) guidelines
• Stocking and ordering supplies
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen
• Adhering to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations
• Ensuring personal protective equipment (PPE) is used at all times
• Managing inventories
• Overseeing the kitchen area and staff

Requirements

• Must be organized and able to multitask
• Ability to lead in a positive manner
• Must be able to obtain proper documentation to work in schools
• K-12 experience is a plus
