About the role
The Cook Lead plays a crucial role in the Food Services team, responsible for preparing high-quality, safe, and delicious meals for patients, staff, and visitors. Key responsibilities include championing food quality standards, modifying meal preparations to accommodate food allergies, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting quality control measures.
Responsibilities
- Champions food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation.
- Prepares and serves food according to menu and dietary requirements, using appropriate kitchen equipment.
- Maintains proper labeling and storage of food products and equipment.
- Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas.
- Assists in overseeing staff to maintain operational excellence.
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in food services.
- FHP ANSI approved or ServSafe Manager ND certification.
- Associate’s Degree or two (2) years of equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of the Associate’s degree.
- One (1) year of hospital experience preferred.
