Qualifications
- Some college or technical training preferred
- 3–5 years’ experience in a high-volume fine dining restaurant, hotel, country club, or equivalent required
- Food Handler certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings
- Ability to interpret recipes
- Ability to safely operate all kitchen equipment
- Intermediate to advanced knife handling skills
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels, month end, purchasing of food supplies, menu development, and coordination of large catered events
- Maintain all kitchen equipment and work area to state sanitary standards
- Communicate and coordinate with third party vendors and external suppliers to ensure the inventory is stocked
- Organize a timeline for the event that is smooth and efficient
- Safely operate all kitchen equipment
- Assist in recipe development
- Ensure that the décor is properly set up and then broken down after the event
- Perform other duties as assigned
