ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrate proficiency in advanced cooking techniques, culinary methods, and a deep understanding of diverse cuisines.
- Contribute actively to menu planning, introducing innovative and sophisticated dishes while maintaining alignment with the resort's culinary vision.
- Provide leadership within the kitchen, guiding and mentoring junior cooks.
- Share knowledge, techniques, and best practices to enhance the skills of the culinary team.
- Ensure the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality in all dishes.
- Oversee food preparation to maintain consistency and excellence.
- Play a key role in the efficient operation of the kitchen, including overseeing workstations, managing inventory, and coordinating with other kitchen staff.
- Exhibit quick and effective problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise in a high-volume and fast-paced kitchen environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is usually required.
- Formal culinary education from a reputable culinary school or vocational training institute is often preferred.
- Previous experience as a Cook II or in a similar supervisory role is often required.
- Proven expertise in menu development, showcasing creativity and a deep understanding of diverse cuisines.
- Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and safety practices.
- Previous Hotel or Resort experience desired.
