Responsibilities

• Prepares foods according to amounts needed following approved recipes and menus.
• Operates and cleans all food service equipment according to manufacturers recommendations.
• Cleans and sanitizes areas of production after each task.
• Thoroughly instructs staff on tasks assigned.
• Supervises staff in absence of Food Service Director or Assistant Manager.
• Explains simple work procedures, provides general work instruction and assists other food service employees in solving routine work problems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent credential.
• No license or certification required.
• Must have a neat and clean appearance and practice personal hygiene; willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Knowledge of methods, materials and practices of large-scale food preparation, food service and related activities, including health hazards and necessary precautionary measures.
• Knowledge of the care and use of food service implements and equipment.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and special directions.
• Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
• Ability to work while standing and under conditions of high temperature and humidity.

Pay

$15.93 - $20.80 hourly; varying weekends receive an additional $2.00/hour.

Schedule

Proposed schedule includes 10:30am – 7:15pm shifts, with varying weekends.
