What You’ll Do

As a Cook I at Sodexo, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items for all meal periods and events in accordance with Sodexo’s culinary standards for quality, presentation, and consistency.

Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, this position ensures all food products are prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized workstation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided.
• Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments.
• Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Varying shifts, days/hours (open availability preferred). Pay Range: $17.75 per hour - $17.75 per hour.
