Cook Helper

About the role

Serves as a helper for cooks, performing tasks as directed.

Responsibilities

• Pan variety of simple meats
• Prepare simple casseroles, convenience foods, open cans, frozen foods
• Auxiliary work on serving lines as needed
• Slice deli meats
• Take food to serving lines and replenish as needed
• Store and date food items
• Fill out appropriate paperwork for the Computerized Food Service Production System (CSI)
• Properly store food items, cold vs. hot, raw vs. cooked
• Grill hamburgers, cheese sandwiches, etc.
• Observe safety and health regulations and maintain highest standards of sanitation

Physical Requirements

• Lifting between 15-30 lbs
• Bending, stooping
• Work with dust fumes and solvents on a daily basis

Tools/Equipment

• Operate a variety of kitchen equipment including slicer, grill, steamer, oven, chopper, and fryer
