Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares nutritious meals that consider child’s various cultures and individual nutritional needs.
- Understands and strictly adheres to health, safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements before, during, and after meal preparation.
- Follows menu guidelines and adjusts when necessary, due to availability of menu items or an individual child's needs.
- Prepares assigned menu and participates in family-style meals with children, volunteers, and staff.
- Maintains food service and record-keeping and reporting as directed by supervisor.
- Cooks according to USDA guidelines and child nutritional needs.
- Prepares alternative menu items as needed for affected children.
Preferred Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- An equivalent combination of related education and related experience may be considered for this position.
- SerSafe Certification or obtain such certification within 3 months.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Non-Essential Duties
- Performs any and all other duties (or functions) as assigned.
