Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary requirements
- Work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Manage multiple food preparation and cooking tasks during meal service
- Assist with food preparation, tray assembly, and meal service
- Follow established food safety and sanitation procedures
- Safely operate kitchen and food service equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift
- Work collaboratively with the dietary and healthcare teams
- Help ensure meals are prepared and served on time
- Help ensure residents receive meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in quantity food preparation required
- Experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Assisted Living environment with at least 60 beds required
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy, quality, and food safety
- Ability to prioritize tasks and remain calm during busy meal service periods
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Knowledge of food service equipment and safe operating procedures
- Ability to safely and properly operate kitchen equipment
- Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and quality
- Reliable, team-oriented, and able to maintain a consistent pace throughout the shift
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and every other weekend
- High School/GED required
Pay
$15.00–$20.00 per hour
Schedule
Full-Time. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain an efficient workflow while preparing meals for our 60-bed facility during busy meal service periods. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and every other weekend. Specific schedule details can be discussed during the interview process.
