Cook (Full Time, $21/hr)
Job Description
Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and menu specifications.
Adhere to portion control guidelines and presentation standards.
Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure food quality and safety.
Comply with all food and beverage regulations including NM Health Code and NM Environment Department standards.
Maintain proper hygiene and clothing standards.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including washing dishes and equipment.
Receive inventory, and restock and replenish kitchen inventory and supplies.
Complete weekly food inventory.
Remain knowledgeable on menu offerings, ingredients, and potential allergens.
Collaborate with food and beverage team members, cooks and managers to coordinate food preparation and order execution.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to maintain a positive and informed work environment.
Assist front-of-house F&B team members as needed.
Assist with front-of-house cleaning as needed.
Provide exceptional customer service by focusing on quality, speed, and customization.
Report emergencies to the manager and respond appropriately to injuries and other emergencies.
Follow and enforce safety rules.
Maintain composure in stressful situations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Possess a food handler card from a New Mexico approved food handler program.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and teamwork-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong service skills and a welcoming demeanor are required.
- Bilingual preferred, especially but not limited to English and Spanish.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- This position works primarily in an indoor kitchen setting.
- Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Remaining in a standing position for prolonged periods.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Positioning, lifting, or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
Work Schedule
Schedules are based on business needs. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays is required.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not require supervisory responsibility.
Travel
No travel is required for this position.
