Cook for Residential Treatment Facility

Role and Responsibilities

• Consistently monitors the temperatures of hot and cold foods according to food safety standards and documents results.
• Completes appropriate forms such as food temperature logs, sanitizer concentration logs and food waste logs.
• Prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in accordance with menu, recipes, allergies and dietary restrictions of individuals.
• Cleans storage, food preparation and serving areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Washes and dries dishes, takes out trash and broken-down boxes, cleans dining area and stocks items in serving areas as needed.
• Performs routine deep clean of kitchen area including sweeping/mopping kitchen floor, cleaning inside and out of reach-ins, cleaning steam table, fryolator, etc.
• Affords assistance in guaranteeing a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food preparation that ensures safe working practices are followed.
• Maintains professional boundaries with clients and interacts with them in an appropriate manner.
• Assists with any other related tasks that are assigned.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior kitchen/restaurant experience preferred.
• ServSafe certified a plus.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Health, food and sanitation knowledge.
• Ability to work independently with little to no assistance.
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
