Job Content
- Meal preparation in accordance with prescribed diets and consistencies in accordance to the planned menu.
- Communicate any dietary concerns/information to the dietitian as needed.
- Shopping for food and supplies as needed and maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary kitchen and dining area, which includes kitchen equipment, in accordance with the agency standards and regulations.
- Maintaining a clean and organized pantry/food storage area.
- Other duties may include inventory checks, attending meetings and trainings as needed and menu planning.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED is required. Proof will need to be provided prior to employment.
- Valid NYS Driver's license is required.

Schedule
- The Cook will be assigned a minimal amount of personal care responsibilities, but may need to play a greater role if program is short-staffed.
- On average, the Cook with spend approximately 75% of the scheduled shift engaged in meal preparation and 25% with Direct Support Professional responsibilities.
Skills
- Some cooking experience
- Organizational skills
- The ability to learn, follow a menu and work independently
- Experience working with people with disabilities is a plus
