About the role

The Cook County Assessor's Office seeks a Director of Data Analytics to produce the Automated Valuation Model estimating property values for over 1 million homes in Chicago and Cook County. The role involves conducting policy analyses, publishing data to the Open Data Portal, and developing public-facing dashboards, reports, talks, and tools to inform the public and drive policy changes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Automated Valuation Model
• Conduct policy analyses related to property assessments and tax policy
• Publish data to the Cook County Open Data Portal
• Create public-facing dashboards, reports, talks, and tools
• Collaborate on projects with the Chief Data Officer, Nicole Jardine

Requirements

• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as R, Python, Tableau, or Power BI
• An analytics background in real estate, public policy, or the social sciences
• A strong commitment to serving the public good
