About the role
The Cook County Assessor's Office seeks a Director of Data Analytics to produce the Automated Valuation Model estimating property values for over 1 million homes in Chicago and Cook County. The role involves conducting policy analyses, publishing data to the Open Data Portal, and developing public-facing dashboards, reports, talks, and tools to inform the public and drive policy changes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Automated Valuation Model
- Conduct policy analyses related to property assessments and tax policy
- Publish data to the Cook County Open Data Portal
- Create public-facing dashboards, reports, talks, and tools
- Collaborate on projects with the Chief Data Officer, Nicole Jardine
Requirements
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as R, Python, Tableau, or Power BI
- An analytics background in real estate, public policy, or the social sciences
- A strong commitment to serving the public good

- US citizenship is not required, but eligibility to work in the United States is necessary
